For example, our packaging is made with +80% Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) plastic; many of our products are EPA Safer Choice Certified; and we choose to use plant-based ingredients instead of petroleum-based ones, as supported by our USDA Certified Biobased Products made with +91% biobased ingredients. Our company is Leaping Bunny Certified because we are against testing on animals. Seventh Generation Professional offers businesses the choice to use cleaning products designed with the wellbeing of people and the environment in mind, without compromise on performance. It is our mission to create a healthy, sustainable and equitable world – and workplace—and we invite operators to use our products that are designed with the wellbeing of their customers and staff in mind. To this end, we are a founding B-Corp Certified company and 2021 EPA Safer Choice Partner of the Year. Our broad portfolio is a one-stop shop for a business’ cleaning needs including front and back of house cleaning solutions.

Our gallons are designed to refill sprayers and bottles. For instance, each time an end user refills their spray bottle instead of purchasing a new sprayer, we are collectively using less plastic. To make refilling convenient, we offer secondary labels that can be placed on existing bottles. In addition, our gallon refills cost less-per-ounce which allows customers to save when purchasing gallons instead of spray bottles.

We use recyclable packaging made from recycled materials with over 80% Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) plastic. PCR plastic comes from items that were recycled by everyday consumers (such as milk jugs) that has been recovered and made into something to be used again – like our product bottles. Using PCR plastic gives plastic a second life and allows us to reduce our reliance on virgin plastics. Below is a breakdown of the PCR content in our bottles:

• Gallon (128oz) bottle: 80% PCR plastic
• 32oz Spray bottle: 100% PCR plastic
• 25oz Dish bottle: 100% PCR plastic
• 32oz Toilet Bowl bottle: 100% PCR plastic
• 12oz Hand Wash Pump bottle: 100% PCR plastic

The USDA Certified Biobased product label lists the percentage of biobased content—ingredients that come from renewable carbon sources– in each product. Biobased content can be animal-based or plant-based, and Seventh Generation only uses plant-based ingredients. By using Biobased ingredients, we can reduce our reliance of petroleum-based ingredients, and therefore, help reduce our dependence on fossil fuels which is a non-renewable resource.

Safer Choice is EPA’s label for safer chemical-based products. The label means that EPA scientists have evaluated every ingredient in the product to ensure it meets Safer Choice’s stringent criteria. When our customers use Safer Choice-Certified products, they are helping to protect their families and the environment by making safer chemical choices.
